Biography
Lejla Žunić is an associate professor at the University of Sarajevo-Faculty of Science, Department of Geography, where she’s been working since 2005. Her main field of interest is tourism. She teaches the following courses: Tourism Planning, Tourism & Environmental Protection, Ethnology, Ethnology of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Methodology of Geo-ecology Research, Field Teaching IV, Topography, Mathematic Cartography (BA level); Urban and Rural Tourism, Principles and Methods of Spatial and Regional Planning (MA level); Methodology of Scientific-Research Work in Geography Sciences, Rural Development and Tourism, Natural Accidents and Risks in Regional and Spatial Planning (PhD studies). She is the author of over 60 different papers presented at different conferences (in Bosnia and Herzegovina and abroad) and in different academic publications. She’s also the author of 4 scientific books. Furthermore, she was a leader in the project funded by the cultural-sport-trading Centre Skenderija & University of Sarajevo-Faculty of Science. She was also actively involved in the realization of Mevlana and Erasmus+ projects. She’s a member of the Editorial Board of the scientific journal “Geographic Review”, the Geographical Society of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sarajevo, and the new member of the international Editorial Board of the scientific journal “Geographical Reviews,” Macedonian Geographical Society, Skopje. Her language skills are Bosnian (native), English (C1), and Arabic (A2).
