Velimir Šećerov

Dean, Faculty of Geography, University of Belgrade, Belgrade, Serbia
He completed primary and secondary architecture school in Belgrade. He entered the Faculty of Geography – Department of Spatial Planning in 1991, where in 1996 he obtained the title of Graduate Spatial Planner. After completing his studies, he worked for three years at the Association of Urban Planners of Serbia as a professional associate. In 1999, he started working at the Faculty of Geography as an assistant trainee.
In 2002, he defended his master’s thesis under the title Danube as the backbone of cross-border spatial integration, and his doctoral dissertation Possibilities of improving the strategic planning of cities and their regions in the Republic of Serbia he defended in 2007 at the Faculty of Geography, University of Belgrade.
From 2008 to 2013, he worked as an assistant professor in a group of subjects from spatial and urban planning and tourism planning (narrower scientific field of spatial planning) at all levels of study.
He is a member of the Department of Spatial Planning. He was a guest lecturer at the University of Banja Luka – PMF (2008-12).
On two occasions he was a member of the Council of the Faculty of Geography, Vice-Dean for International Cooperation and Economy (2010-2012), Vice-Dean for Finance (2012-2021), Dean of the Faculty (2021-…).
